Offer Holders

Congratulations on your offer!

Fabienne Peter

Congratulations on your offer to study at the University of Warwick. We are very pleased that you are considering coming to study with us!

I’m Professor Fabienne Peter, and I am the Head of the Department of Philosophy.

The Warwick Philosophy Department is among the best philosophy departments in the UK* and our aim is to give you an outstanding and intellectually stimulating philosophical education that provides you with a head start in your career. The University of Warwick is one of the most successful new Universities globally and there is always lots happening on campus. Philosophy has an active student-led society, which arranges talks, other extracurricular activities, and runs a student mentoring scheme.

If you haven’t already done so, I’d strongly encourage you to visit us at one of our Offer Holder Open Days – it’s an opportunity to meet some of our students, hear about the student experience, and to meet some of the members of staff you could be taught by.

If you have any questions, please do get in touch, and I look forward to seeing you in the department!

* We were ranked first in the country for the quality of our research in the last Research Excellence Framework (2014) and we were delighted to be rated 9th in the Times/Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019 and 9th in The Complete University Guide 2019.

katherine_sorab.jpg What I like about the Philosophy department...

I applied to five good universities and once I got my offers I was faced with the rather unpleasant task of choosing between them. I had hoped my offers would have chosen for me but all of them required the same results. I went to several offer holder days and the main reason I chose Warwick was that it simply felt right. With every university visit, I tried to separate myself from whoever I was with at the time and walk through the campus or the halls on my own and to see if I could imagine myself doing this daily, to see if it felt right, in a sense. Warwick was the only one where it did. I think it was the welcoming community and campus feel, also it was the progressive thinking and youth of Warwick but Warwick felt right for me, which is why I ended up here.
