Sociology » Centre for the Study of Women and Gender

MYPLACE (Memory, Youth, Political Legacy and Civic Engagement): An EC funded project, which explores how young people's social participation in Europe is shaped. The study provides vital pan-European data on levels of participation and the meanings young people attach to it.

The working lives of street children in Accra:
Yaw Ofosu-Kusi and Phil Mizen research the lives of street children in Ghana's capital. They capture the children's own accounts of their work and income generation, experience of living on the street, friendships, cooperation and sources of reciprocity

Annual study trips: Each year students have an opportunity to develop their knowledge by joining an organised study trip. Destinations have included Russia, Portugal, Ireland, America, Poland, Italy, Germany, Hungary, Spain and Denmark

The Department of Sociology at Warwick is consistently highly rated in university league tables for teaching, the student experience, and research excellence
