Telephone and Fax Services

Each office is provided with a telephone extension which can take and make internal and external calls. Heads of Group/Directors/Managers may give authority for staff to have an International line if it is necessary for their work, this should be addressed to Julie O'Brien to enable her to inform the telephone exchange. There should be an 'honesty box' in your group support office for payment of any private calls you may make, alternatively staff can make arrangements to pay for private calls at the WBS Finance Office in Scarman Road room C1.05. The main School fax (024 76 523719) is situated in the WBS Scarman Road post room B0.04, the WBS Facilities assistants will either notify the recipient, deliver them or place in pigeonholes depending on the urgency. Outgoing faxes should be sent on a serve-yourself basis, from your group office. There is a tariff for private faxes, these should be paid for as with telephone calls mentioned previously. The WBS Room and Telephone list is updated regularly and is available for staff to print off if required by using the MIS link in WBS Applications. Please ensure that your entry is correct as the MIS is linked to the information shown on the WBS web site listing your contact details. Group support staff are reminded that it is their responsibility to inform the University Telephone Exchange on 73737 or helpdesk@warwick.ac.uk on the arrival of any new posts, with the group, room and extension number to which they have been allocated. Voice Mail: The default pin number to set up your VM on 74747 is 1111 or your extension number and the school recommends that unless you are expecting confidential messages the pin number should be set to 0000 which means that no number is required to access your phone. This also prevents inconvenience when more than one person uses the phone on a regular basis or when the user changes.
