Students - Support for Personal Computers
|
A number of students have asked us: "What computer should I bring to WBS with me?", "Is a MAC suitable or should I buy a Windows laptop?", "Will I be able to run the required software on my personal computer?" The answers depend on what course you're on and what specifically you want to use your computer for. All of our open access area computers run Windows 7 and have access to all the applications required by your course. Anyone wishing to run software required by their course on their personal computers, will need to check the licensing and software availability on IT Services website: http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/services/its/servicessupport/software/ Students who live on campus are entitled to free support for their personal machines under the 'Privately owned systems support' service managed by central IT Services. Non-resident students (or staff) can purchase this service for an annual fee of GBP29.38 inc VAT.
