Adding a new WBS group printer

You are a member of staff and you wish to add the new group printer to your office computer (all group printers are networked printers).

Procedure

  • Open Internet Explorer (will not work on Windows with other browsers) and visit http://print.wbs.ac.uk/ipp
  • Locate your printers in the list. The easiest way is often to press Edit > Find on this page and to search for your group's name

  • When you find your printer click on its name (the first part in blue). This will start the install wizard. You may be asked to type your WBS username and password. If so ensure you tick the box to 'Remember my password'.

  • Click OK to install the printer

  • Wait while the various steps are completed...

  • You should then receive a message informing you that the printer is now installed. Repeat the process for each networked printer in your group.

Having problems?

  • browser - make sure pop ups are enabled (WBS Internet Explorer has been already set up to allow pop-ups from this page)
  • browser - make sure Active X is enabled (WBS Internet Explorer has been already set up to allow ActiveX from this page)
  • you are getting an error message - insufficient rights - it is because the system doesn't recognise you as a valid user of that printer. If you are sure that is the correct printer, contact us help at wbs dot ac dot uk ).
