About Us Warwick Business School has a long and celebrated history in the development of organisation theory, and WOTNet has been established to continue and further this tradition. Comprising of a loose affiliation of organisational theorists, WOTNet aims to become a globally recognised centre of excellence for the development and promotion of organisation theory through a range of events, publications, and associated activities. Central to WOTNet’s mission is a belief that the study of organisational life should provide insights not only into how organisations might be run more efficiently, but more importantly open up fundamental questions about how they might operate differently; in ways perhaps unrecognisable to the traditional conception of what an organisation is and what it does. As such, WOTNet is pushing the ideas of organisation and organising beyond traditional boundaries towards ideas of organising as a fundamental activity of social life. Such a rethinking of organisation also extends to the ways in which we attempt to study the organisational domain and the disciplines and theoretical resources we utilise. Sociology, philosophy, cultural studies, psychology, economics, history and geography all contribute to our work, while a pluralistic attitude to social scientific theory encourages approaches that draw upon, amongst others:
