MA in Educational Assessment

We are delighted to be offering this innovative MA in Educational Assessment which has been developed as a result of a collaborative partnership between the Centre for Lifelong Learning and Warwick Institute of Education. The MA has attracted a diverse range of professionals from the UK and abroad.

This MA is one of six courses in the UK being sponsored by the Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors (CIEA).

It reflects an increasing recognition of the importance of educational assessment and an aspiration that individuals with expertise in assessment should become part of the staff in all educational establishments. The course is suitable for professionals working in a range of educational sectors, from primary through to further and higher education, who wish to further their abilities in assessment. It is designed to help students to extend their knowledge and deepen their understanding of the theory and research underpinning educational assessment and to explore ways in which this can be used to improve practice.

It has been developed in partnership between the Institute of Education and the Centre for Lifelong Learning.

Students complete four taught modules (30 CATs each), and a dissertation (60 CATs). To read the full course specification click here.
