Ofsted, Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills, has awarded the 'Outstanding' Provider status to the Warwick Institute of Education. Institutions are judged by Ofsted as 'Outstanding', 'Good', 'Satisfactory' or 'Inadequate'. The Ofsted report listed some of the key strengths of Warwick's teacher training provision, stating: "The University enjoys a good reputation, recruitment to initial teacher training is strong and a large proportion of trainees are successful in gaining teaching posts in the West Midlands. Final attainment for trainees on the primary route is high with more than 50% if trainees judged to be outstanding by the end of the course.' Ian Abbott, Associate Professor at Warwick Institute of Education has commented on the Ofsted result:
