WRERU has an international reputation for its research and curriculum development in religious education. It has produced many research publications and the Warwick RE Project, a series of teacher and pupil books for use in schools. In 1996 WRERU won the Templeton UK Award for promoting inter-cultural and inter-religious understanding through religious education. The research and teaching milieu of WRERU draws on the expertise of well known staff members including Professor Robert Jackson, Professor Eleanor Nesbitt and Professor Leslie Francis.
