Tania ap Siôn is a Senior Research Fellow in the Warwick Religions and Education Research Unit, and Executive Director of the St Mary's Research centre, Wales.
Prior to her current positions, Tania was a lecturer of Religious Education in the School of Education at Bangor University, contributing to the primary BEd and PGCE programmes and coordinating the secondary PGCE programme. In addition, she was a lecturer in World Religions in the School of Theology and Religious Studies at Bangor University, teaching World Religions.
Tania is a member of a number of organisations, including:
- Executive Committee of the Welsh Association of Standing Advisory Councils for Religious Education (WASACRE), for which she is Secretary
- The National Advisory Panel for Religious Education (NAPfRE)
- Religious Education Movement Wales (REMW)
- Standing Advisory Councils for RE (SACREs) for the LEAs of Wrexham, Denbighshire, and Conwy

In autumn 2010 Dr. David Lankshear, Research Fellow in WRERU, took over the Inter European Commission on Chruch and School (ICCS) secretariat for an interim period up to 2012. Dr Tania ap Siôn, Senior Research Fellow in WRERU and Director of the St Mary’s Centre in Gwynedd was welcomed as secretary designate. She will take over from David in 2012.

Research interests
Tania’s research interests include the empirical study of prayer, religious experience, ‘faith’ schools, and Freemasonry and the Church of England. Her research employs mainly qualitative research methods.
Curriculum development interests
Tania is also involved in the development of classroom resources for religious education commissioned by the Welsh Assembly Government. She is currently working on four curriculum development projects: Story books and Active Learning (Foundation Phase), Popular Themes in RE (Foundation Phase), Welsh Pathways in RE (Key Stage 2), and Online Journal for A-level RS.
