By Give As You Earn (GAYE)
This is probably one of the easiest and most flexible ways of making a donation to a charity since, once you decide on the level of contribution most of the work is done by your employer.
This method allows an employee to give a regular or single gift direct from their income to a charity. The pledged amount is deducted after National Insurance Contributions are calculated but before PAYE tax is deducted. The donation is therefore tax-free for the donor and the tax the donor would have paid goes straight to the charity instead.
The University of Warwick currently receives donations from graduates through this scheme and we are registered on the CAF ‘Give As You Earn’ site
. The GAYE donation form
can also be obtained from the CAF website.
If your place of employment operates a payroll giving system, you can elect to make contributions to The University of Warwick. Some companies also undertake a ‘matching gift’ scheme that means that they will double (at least) any donations you make to a charity in this way.
