(Professor Joseph Cleary teaches at Yale University and at NUI Maynooth. He was educated at NUI Maynooth and in Columbia University, New York, where he studied with Edward W. Said. He is the author of Literature, Partition and the Nation-State: Culture and Conflict in Ireland, Israel and Palestine and Outrageous Fortune: Capital and Culture in Modern Ireland.)
