Registrar's Meeting: Summer 2012

Developing the Campus as a Community

Wednesday 20 June 2012

The meeting took the form of small group discussions. Participants were encouraged to input their thoughts and ideas on a specific topic under the theme 'Developing the campus as a community'.

Ken and his Senior Officer team each facilitated a discussion group and key ideas were fed back to the wider group at the end of the hour.

Attendees were asked to chose their preferred topic and were allocated to the following groups:

1. General campus provision
2. Food provision
3. Families on campus
4. Campus at the weekends
5. Attracting the local community onto campus

Participants were encouraged to write down their ideas on the tablecloths. You can see a word cloud showing which ideas were written most frequently and also read the full text from the tablecloths here.

What will happen next?

More people will be able to feed in their ideas through walking tours with the Learning and Development Centre and all ideas and suggestions will be discussed by Senior Officers in the early autumn. The Registrar will report on progress at the next meeting.

Join the discussion

If you missed the meeting, you can still feed your ideas into the discussion. A series of walking tours around campus will soon be advertised by the Learning and Development Centre. Further details will be added here and on the LDC web pages shortly.
