Warwick Arts Centre Cinema was the subject of a feature in The Guardian's Film Blog: Cine-files this week. The feature asks readers to talk about where they go to watch films, rating the building, location , clientelle and programme.

The coffee bar in University House will be open this Saturday and Sunday (26 and 27 May) between 11:00am and 4:00pm as a trial. If there is enough demand, the trial will be extended – so pop along for a coffee!

The Student Support Office is pleased to announce a number of opportunities within the Residential Life Team for the academic year 2012-2013. The Coventry Mysteries Week (9-18 June) is a festival of free dance, drama, music and art events for all ages; creatively transforming the city’s urban spaces and exploring social issues. This year there will also be a half-day conference exploring the 2012 theme of 'Peace and Reconciliation' with keynote speakers from the University of Warwick, which sponsors the festival alongside Coventry University, Coventry City Council and the Higgs Foundation.

In an article in The Guardian published on 22 May, the University of Warwick was ranked as one of the top performing universities in the UK for students securing job offers while still studying.

Warwick and Monash University have begun to take advantage of their unique alliance with the visit to Melbourne this week of Professor Swaran Singh, Head of the Division of Mental Health and Wellbeing at Warwick Medical School.

Knitted birds took over the area outside the Arts Centre recently in a 'yarn bombing' event organised by the Mead Gallery's Knit, Stitch and Crochet Club to celebrate the group's first birthday. Passers by were invited to give the birds a new home and they quickly flew off the trees! Did you give one of the birds a new home? If so, the knitters would love to hear from you.
