Research Collaboration with Brazil: FAPESP-Warwick Joint Fund 2015-16

We've been focussing on developing links with universities, research councils and industry in Brazil at an institutional level since 2011, in recognition of the growing importance of Brazil as a global research economy. Following the signing of an agreement between Warwick and the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in June 2014, a second FAPESP-Warwick joint call for proposals has been announced, with a closing date of 24 April 2015.

The call will be run through FAPESP’s SPRINT 1st Edition 2015 (São Paulo Researchers in International Collaborations), a strategy designed to encourage and promote the advancement of research through the engagement of researchers affiliated with research institutions in the State of São Paulo with research partners abroad.

What we're looking for

This Call for Proposals invites research proposals in all fields and is open to all academic departments, research institutes, centres and groups at Warwick, with particular encouragement given to inter- and multi-disciplinary proposals that foster collaboration between Departments and Faculties. Strong preference will be given to projects that will be likely to promote sustained collaborative activity beyond the end point of the award period.

The project lead must be a permanent or fixed-term member of academic staff (with at least 12 months left on employment contract as of 1st December 2014, ending no earlier than the end of the period for which funds are awarded). Participants may include Post-Doctoral Fellows and PhD students where appropriate.

Both FAPESP and Warwick will each provide funding of up £10,000 per proposal per year for the duration of the grant to cover mobility expenses. The maximum duration of each project is 24 months.
