Call for Papers: Reinvention
Submissions are now being accepted for the first issue of Reinvention: a Journal of Undergraduate Research. Papers are welcome from undergraduate students at the University of Warwick or Oxford Brookes University and can be based in any subject or discipline as long as the author(s) are undergraduate students.
Reinvention: a Journal of Undergraduate Research is a bi-annual, online, peer-reviewed journal, published through the Reinvention Centre and dedicated to the publication of undergraduate student research. The aim of the journal is to provide a public forum for undergraduate students’ academic work and to enable their research to be accessed by a wide audience.
The journal is a multi-disciplinary, cross-institutional publication. It will be produced, edited and managed by students at Oxford Brookes and Warwick universities, in collaboration with Reinvention staff. The journal will be electronic and will be interactive to enable links to film clips, other websites, photographs and any other resources linked to the published paper. The first issue of the journal is due to be launched at the Reinvention conference Student As Producer: Reinventing the Undergraduate Curriculum in September 2007.
The papers published within the journal will illustrate the range of undergraduate research currently being conducted by undergraduate students and each paper will be double blind peer reviewed in order to ensure that the quality of work being produced is indicative of the quality of research being carried out at this level.
The copy deadline for the first issue of the journal is Monday 13 July and papers should be between 2000 and 5000 words in length. Submissions for the first issue of the journal should therefore be based on work that is already well developed; however submissions for subsequent issues of the journal are also welcomed at this time.
Papers will be published on the understanding that the material is original and has not been published or submitted for review elsewhere. All material, including footnotes, titles, tables, and quotations, must be prepared according to the style guide of the journal, which will be provided to students who wish to prepare a submission to the journal.
Students wishing to discuss a possible submission should contact Cath Lambert at The University of Warwick: mailto:cath.lambert@warwick.ac.uk or Pete Smith at Oxford Brookes University: mailto:prsmith@brookes.ac.uk
Any students interested in becoming involved with the production, management, editing or marketing of the journal should contact Caroline Gibson, the Journal Manager: c.a.l.gibson@warwick.ac.uk
