Congratulations to Christina Hughes

Congratulations to Warwick’s Pro Vice-Chancellor for Teaching and Learning, Professor Christina Hughes, who has today been announced as Sheffield Hallam’s new Pro Vice-Chancellor for Student Experience. Christina will take up her new role on 1 November.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Stuart Croft said:

Christina has served in so many capacities at Warwick; as a scholar and a teacher; a head of department and a chair of faculty; and as a pro vice-chancellor. In addition, she has twice directly experienced student life at Warwick, first as undergraduate, then as a PhD research student. Those experiences no doubt added a particular insight into her current role as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning) at Warwick where her duties include ‘Maintaining Warwick’s standing as a place of teaching excellence.’

“Clearly her national and international academic, and academic leadership, reputation will assist her to make a significant contribution, not just to Sheffield Hallam but to our sector as whole. We wish her well in her role.”

In her new role at Sheffield Hallam, Christina will have responsibility for cross-university portfolio development issues, including chairing the Recruitment Board, and will have overall responsibility for the entire student journey. She will also line manage three of the services: Learning Enhancement and Academic Development (LEAD); Student Engagement, Evaluation and Research (STEER); and Library and Student Support Services (LSSS).
