Erika Mole

Name: Erika Mole

Job title: Sports Operations Assistant

Department: Warwick Sport

My job involves…

The main role of my job is to ensure the safety of customers during their time here at Warwick Sport and to assist with any of their needs. This may include setting up of their chosen sport, instructions on how to use the equipment, enquires about the sporting facilities, and how to book halls, pitches, classes and climbing sessions. As well as this I help all customers have a memorable experience within Warwick Sport.

But during Christmas week…

During the festive season, our centre naturally goes through a quiet period, however, this gives us an opportunity to be even more attentive to our customers. We create a festive atmosphere by, for example, playing Christmas songs throughout the centre and giving our customers an unforgettable experience.

Working during the festive season is unique because…

No matter what is happening within the building or outside during the festive season, there seems to be a warm, happy vibe throughout the whole of campus - and there's a real family feel between Warwick Sport and their customers.

My most memorable moment from working over Christmas has been…

The feeling of becoming a family came from the first time I worked during Christmas. We received a number of presents and treats as a thank you from customers, as well as from our management team. These gestures may seem small but bring such joy to the staff.

The most challenging part of working over Christmas is...

Being away from family and family that you may not have seen throughout the year, however our close knit team, as well as our bond with customers, does make this a little easier.

People may not realise but…

The day to day running of our centre, does not change greatly throughout this time of year. Even though it’s relatively quiet, we still have the same high standards, roles and responsibilities to maintain.
