New Fellows of the Academy of Social Sciences

Two Warwick professors have been announced as Fellows of the Academy of Social Sciences, an award which recognises leading social scientists who have made a substantial contribution to wider social science.

Professor Richard Hastings and Professor Simon Williams are among 34 leading social scientists to receive the honour this year.

Richard Hastings, Professor in Centre for Educational Development, Appraisal and Research, is a leading international researcher into the social science of learning disability.

Simon WilliamsSimon Williams

Simon Williams, Professor of Sociology, is a leading medical sociologist, working especially on the sociologies of the body, emotions and chronic illness, as well as sleep.

The Academy of Social Sciences is the National Academy of Academics, Learned Societies and Practitioners in the Social Sciences. Its mission is to promote social sciences in the UK for the public benefit.
