British Council Indonesia Second City HE Partnerships Travel Grant

The British Council is making travel grants of £3,000 available for academic visits to Indonesia that aim to establish new or substantially deepened faculty or institutional partnerships.

Preference is for proposals that include visits to Indonesian tertiary institutions outside of Java or that include visits to institutions in UK government priority second cities such as Surabaya, Bandung, Makassar and Medan.

Ideally the application will include a proposal for giving a lecture/workshop to Indonesian students and/or academics, or a workshop for international officers. The applicant should be a full-time or part-time academic based at a UK university.

Any other costs related to the visit not covered by the travel grant are the responsibility of the university.

Applications for the travel grant should include an outline of the proposed itinerary, including institutions and individuals where known, aims and intended outcomes of the visit. Applications should also include information about existing collaboration with Indonesia and a brief bio of the applicant.

Timeline

The deadline for applications is Friday 16 February 2015. Travel grants will be disbursed by 31 March 2015.

Travel needs to take place by end of November 2015 and a report of the visit should be submitted by the end of December 2015.
