My Warwick Life: Mia Goldsmith

mia_goldsmithThe My Warwick Life feature gives an insight into staff and students’ lives at Warwick, considering both their work and social life on campus. This week we hear from Mia Goldsmith, Sales Co-ordinator, Warwick Conference Parks & Events.

There is no such thing as a typical day but in an nutshell my job involves..

processing catering bookings from internal and external customers and providing admin help and support to our team.

I had a really useful meeting recently with..

one of our customers. It was nice to put a face to the voice and talk about their future event.

It would be useful to work more closely with..

the conference team. I would like to find out a little more about their roles and be a part of organising an event.

At the moment I am really enjoying working on..

online bookings with my colleague Kathryn. We will be online by 2013 (fingers and toes crossed).

I recently learnt that..

honesty is the best policy!

Warwick is really unique because..

you have everything you need on campus.

The best thing about working at Warwick is..

the people who work here. You can always guarantee a happy, friendly environment.

If I could change one thing about the University it would be..

to penalise the motorists who go over on red at the pedestrian crossings.

I recently went to the Arts Centre to watch..

The Tiger Who Came To Tea. I took my son Tyler who thoroughly enjoyed it.

I am a regular user of the Sports Centre for..

watching my partner rock climb.

I recently had a meal at..

Bar Fusion. I have had a few there now and it always feels like a calm quiet atmosphere so if you wanted a nice meal at lunch I would recommend it.

I usually travel to campus by..

car. However, I only live in Kenilworth and would like to cycle it.

I am really glad I got involved with..

events on the top floor. I sometimes help if they are busy and this has helped me as a person and brought me more confidence.
