Professor Mark Smith

Following on from the announcement of Professor Mark Smith’s appointment as Deputy Vice-Chancellor, the University is pleased to confirm that Professor Smith took up his new role on 1 May 2010.

In his role as Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Smith has responsibilities for resources, both academic and human, the capital programme and academic accommodation in addition, of course, to deputising for the Vice-Chancellor whenever necessary.

Professor Smith was previously Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research (Science and Medicine), and is a Professor in the Department of Physics and Director of the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Centre.
