University of Warwick Council member Vikki Heywood has received a CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.

Vikki Heywood is the Executive Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) and receives the CBE for services to drama. She was appointed in 2003 having followed a successful career in theatre management for many years. Prior to the RSC, she was joint Chief Executive of the Royal Court Theatre from 1996. She is a Director of the Society of London Theatres, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and is on the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad Board and the Board of the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership.

Vikki Heywood began her first term of office as a lay member of the University Council in 2008. She also serves on the Building Committee, Honorary Degrees Committee and Nominations Committee.
