Royal Society and Wellcome Trust Fellowship

rCongratulations to Dr Liz Fullam, from the School of Life Sciences, has recently been awarded a Sir Henry Dale Fellowship of £822,993, jointly funded by the Wellcome Trust and the Royal Society to investigate the role of nutrient transporters in Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the causative agent of TB.

The five-year Fellowship, with the possibility of an additional three year extension, will provide an excellent opportunity to establish this area of research in Life Sciences, and builds on Liz’s current research project, which was funded by a Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowship.

Sir Henry Dale Fellowship

This Fellowship brings together the Royal Society and the Wellcome Trust, two of the world's most prestigious and influential scientific organisations, in their shared commitment to supporting the future leaders of biomedical research. The scheme seeks to support individuals who would have previously applied for a 'biomedical' Royal Society University Research Fellowship or a Wellcome Trust Research Career Development Fellowship hosted by a UK academic organisation.
