In response to demands from Warwick students and staff to improve bus services from Leamington Spa at peak times, a new bus service, L1 will start operating from Leamington Spa on Monday 26 September, in time for the start of term.

The L1 bus service will be operated by Travel De Courcey and will supplement the existing Unibus service operated by Stagecoach at peak times. The L1 will operate as an 'express' bus service, picking up passengers at just two bus stops in Leamington Spa before travelling direct to main campus. The L1 will operate a limited timetable from Monday to Friday with seven bus services in the morning peak and four bus services in the evening peak. The timetable and bus stops for the L1 bus service are as follows:

The fares for the L1 bus service have also been set by the University at rates aimed at encouraging the use of bus services to travel to campus, with four ticket types available to University students and staff. The Unirider Permit Holder ticket is a supplement for holders of a Stagecoach Unirider permit to travel on the L1 service. The fares and ticket options are as follows:

These new bus services support the development of the University's Transport Strategy and are an extension of the new University bus services introduced across Coventry in April this year.
