Residential Vacancy: Senior Resident

The Student Support Office has an opportunity available for a Senior Resident at Liberty Park, a privately owned property close to Coventry City Centre.

Senior Residents are responsible for maintaining pastoral care within the Halls of Residence. As a Senior Resident, you will be responsible for providing pastoral care for students in your area, attend Warden’s briefings and Hall committee meetings, organising staff and student area Committees, and maintaining updated lists of students and Emergency Contact Forms for residents.

Required Skills

You will have strong demonstrable experience of working with others to provide pastoral care, including a good understanding of the requirements of pastoral care in the context of University life. You will also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills as you will be required to deal on a regular basis with residential students, members of your residential team, and other University departments. You must have excellent organisational skills as well as the ability to be creative in devising strategies to most effectively meet student needs. You should possess knowledge of the requirements/duties of the Main Campus Residential Life Team and be confident to deal with emergency situations if the need arises. You should be willing to be on call to deal with problems/issues that occur in both daytime and night time hours if the situation demands.

You will be provided with an apartment at Liberty Park and either a University Car Parking Permit or a bus pass.

Candidates who applied during the summer round for a Resident Tutorship in the Central Campus Residential Life Team will be eligible to apply due to the varying role description

Please note that this vacancy is not suitable for occupation with children.
