Following the appointment of Nicola Owen as Deputy Registrar, I am delighted to announce that Dr Mike Glover has been appointed as Academic Registrar and will take up his new role in early October.

The Academic Registrar is the key student-facing administrative post in the Senior Officer team and the post-holder leads a critical set of University services and contributes to the management of the University at the most senior level.

Mike brings with him a wealth of experience from a variety of roles at the University. He joined Warwick in January 2002 as Finance Manager in the Leicester Warwick Medical School and was subsequently appointed Senior Assistant Registrar and then School Secretary of Warwick Medical School with responsibility for all of the department’s administrative support services. Mike has previously worked in the NHS as a graduate financial management trainee and at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne as Faculty Accountant with responsibility for the Arts, Biological Sciences and Medical Faculties.

During his time at Warwick Mike has been a key part of the leadership team in the Medical School which has led the growth of the school from a relatively small start-up operation to its current status as one of the University’s largest academic departments. Mike has led the establishment of departmental support services in the Medical School which maintain close functional ties to central administrative service departments, these ties have helped to embed the Medical School in the life of the University.

I look forward to welcoming Mike to the Senior Officer team in October and further details of his post will be shared in the coming weeks.
