    Personal Safety Guidelines

Pedestrians are advised not to walk alone on the campus during the hours of darkness and should take extra care.

Advised walking routes have been identified for students, staff and visitors using the campus during the hours of darkness.

Steps have been taken to ensure lighting levels are above average, ornamental shrubbery and trees are controlled, CCTV monitoring exists, emergency telephones are available at strategic points and regular security patrols operate along these prime walking routes.

After darkness students or staff who are travelling alone on campus can contact Security at the Gatehouse who will assist in ensuring they arrive safely at their destination.

    Advised Routes

    1. Car Park 8 along Claycroft Road footpath through barrier into the residential areas.

    3. Rootes Residences through Red Square, Benefactors Hall to Car Park 5 and the Piazza.
    4. Piazza via Car Park 5 and into the Cryfield, Hurst and Redfern Residences, over the pelican crossing through the central walkways.

    Summary

The University of Warwick is a safe campus and has an extremely good record on student and staff safety over many, many years. However, as a precaution, everyone is reminded to take extra care, familiarise themselves with the security measures, not to travel alone and to keep to the advised routes.
