Opportunities for researchers

Researchers

As we develop our strategy for Warwick in India, how can we harness and develop existing collaborations and networks to create opportunities are there for research and researchers?

Collaboration

The East India Company at home 1757-1857 is a three-year research project, which examines the British country house in an imperial and global context. Working in collaboration with family and local historians, curators, academics and other researchers to illuminate Britain's global material culture from the 18th century to the present.

Collaborative research between Warwick, Southampton and the Diabetes Research Centre at KEM hospital in Pune, India is assessing whether certain vitamin levels (folic acid and vitamin B12) in the mother’s during pregnancy affects the diabetes and cardiovascular risk of the mothers and offspring.

Greater integration with top Indian institutions brings more opportunity for collaborative research projects, either working jointly with Indian researchers, or travelling to India to undertake research.

Network

Opportunities are opened for scholars to meet and converse together on India and Indian related topics, and to attract postgraduates and funding.

Funding opportunities

International collaboration brings opportunities to apply to new funding sources. Warwick has previously had success with the UK-India Education and Research Initiative and the Indian Council of Medical Research.
