The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

'Assessing and improving hearing with cochlear implants in noisy spaces'

Cochlear implants (CIs) can restore speech understanding in quiet but most implant users complain that noise and reverberation make speech understanding difficult or even impossible. In normal hearing, several mechanisms contribute to our ability to hear out one source in a potpourri of sources. This so called auditory scene analysis uses monaural and binaural cues which are often degraded in electric hearing. I will review our research on auditory scene analysis by CI users with a particular focus on the effect of reverberation on binaural hearing. The results of our studies suggest ways to improve the coding of binaural cues in implants which will be discussed.

    Open to all.

Varsity 2012: Warwick v Coventry Football Finale
    When: 4pm - 10pm, Wed, 14 Mar '12
    Where: Ricoh Arena
    Notes:

The final match of the Varsity Season - University of Warwick Vs. Coventry University Varsity Football.

Over the past couple of years, Men's football have undergone a remarkable transformation. The club who've always had a bit of star quality but lacked a certain amount of bite have now added that much needed steel to their performances. Pushing for back to back promotions, this Warwick side could find themselves in the premier division next season, which would see them become possibly the most successful Men’s football team in the university’s history. Coventry should be shaking in their boots as this year Warwick mean business and after a disappointing, albeit successful 0-0 varsity result last year (Warwick won on penalties) the team will be striving to show Coventry who really sits on the football thrown around these parts and the Ricoh Arena will provide an electrifying stage on which the battle for pride can be fought.

Details of tickets and transport will be announced nearer the event.

    Womens - 5:30PM - Ricoh Arena

    Mens - 7:45PM - Ricoh Arena

Tickets must be picked up from SUHQ Reception, and we'll email you to let you know when these are available.

5pm - 7pm The New Vesalius - Honorary Professor Vivian Nutton Seminar MS.05 (Maths & Stats Building)

The New Vesalius - Honorary Professor Vivian Nutton Seminar
    When: 5pm - 7pm, Wed, 14 Mar '12
Where: MS.05 (Maths & Stats Building)
    Notes:

The Departments of History, Classics and Ancient History with the Centre for the History of Medicine and Centre for the Study of the Renaissance are delighted to present:

The New Vesalius - a guest seminar from Professor Vivian Nutton

    - Please note places may be limited and therefore will be allocated on a first come first seated basis.

Light refreshments will be provided following the seminar

    Additional Information:

Even before its appearance in print in 1543, the De humani corporis fabrica of Andreas Vesalius was regarded as marking a new stage in the understanding of the human body. Its emphasis on human dissection challenged prevailing orthodoxies, while the beauty of its illustrations has ensured its place as the most famous of all anatomy books. A second, enlarged edition followed in 1555, but little further is known about Vesalius, by now an imperial physician, until his death in 1564. The very recent discovery of his hundreds of notes for a never-published third edition, including changes to the plates as well as the text, throws new and unexpected light on his interests and activities after 1555.
