Warwick Economics Summit 2013
Warwick Economics Summit, the successful international forum run entirely by Warwick students, will return to campus for its 11th year from February 15 - 17, 2013. The event offers ticketholders the chance to attend talks by a number of high profile speakers, as well as attending educational workshops touching on a range of global issues.
Building on the success of previous years, a host of revered and respected individuals will be speaking at the event including a keynote speech by The Rt. Hon Dr. Vince Cable, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills. Other highlights of the extensive programme include:
- Andrew Bailey, Bank of England - When the world hit the worst financial crisis in its history in 2007, Andrew Bailey of the Bank of England (BoE) was given the responsibility for fixing the problems in the British banking system.
- Rory Sutherland, Ogilvy Group - Vice Chairman of the Ogilvy Group in the UK, Rory rose quickly through the ranks and is now one of the most important figures in the Ogilvy Group, who have represented brands including Dove, BP and Ford.
- Bob Kerslake, Head of the Civil Service - A Warwick alumnus and the most senior member of the Civil Service, Sir Bob Kerslake has been involved with Public Sector Affairs throughout his career. He was rewarded for his services to local government in 2005 with a Knighthood.
For anyone who is not able to attend in person, the whole event will be livestreamed online, with interactive features including exclusive interviews and Twitter question and answer sessions.
