Governor Lamido Sanusi Talks at the Warwick Economics Summit 2012. Governor Lamido Sanusi was awarded the title of Central Bank Governor of the year by "The Banker" magazine produced by the Financial Times and featured in TIME magazine’s TIME100 list of most influential people in the world of 2011. Within his first 18 months of serving at the Central Bank of Nigeria he had already begun saving a collapsing banking sector and with various reforms he resurrected the market to attract investors. His anti-corruption campaign not only cleaned up the banking sector in Nigeria but the country as a whole, as Nigerian people began to understand the years of corruption had reached their end, when they were made aware of the numerous corrupt bank executives who the Governor sacked and brought to justice.
