Warwick Medics raise money for children's ward

Medical students at the University of Warwick have raised £300 for the Walsgrave Hospital children's ward by staging a comedy sketch show.

The money was raised through a medics' revue - a comedy sketch show - the proceeds of which are going towards buying a digital camera and printer for sick children and their parents to use.

The revue included sketches taking a wry view at the medical world, poking fun at the people and the profession.

Revue organiser and medical student Fay Newman said: "This was Warwick's first ever medic's revue and we're thrilled it was such a success. We're really glad we could help out our local teaching hospital."

A senior consultant at the hospital said: "We're really grateful to the students. The camera will allow us to take better quality photos and print them on site. We'll be able to use this for special events such as birthdays and Christmas."
