Students to grill panellists at third Warwick Question Time

Two high-profile politicians will take questions from new and current students at the University of Warwick when they sit on the panel of the Department of Economics’ annual Question Time next week.

Douglas Carswell, currently the only UKIP Member of Parliament and Hazel Blears, Labour MP from 1997 until she stood down earlier this year, will be joined by the Greek-born British economist, business consultant and author Vicky Price.

These exciting panellists will discuss a range of issues in Butterworth Hall at Warwick Arts Centre, alongside the Head of the Department of Economics Abhinay Muthoo and Vice-Chancellor Nigel Thrift.

Similar in style to the BBC TV show, Warwick Economics Question Time is held at the beginning of each new academic year and is seen as a fantastic opportunity for students to get involved in debate with politicians and policy makers.

Professor Muthoo said: “As one of the leading Departments of Economics, we pride ourselves on proving an exceptional student experience.

“This event forms part of our induction activities for economics students to start the new academic year in style and is an excellent opportunity for students to engage with politicians, policy makers and academics on major issues and questions that concern the world.”

Warwick Economics Question Time, now in its third year, takes place on between 5:30pm and 7pm on Monday 5 October.
