In its new guide to Universities published this Sunday,  13^th September, The Sunday Times newspaper has declared that “The University of Warwick continues to lead the field of Midlands universities by topping The Sunday Times University Guide 2010 in the region for each of every 12 years that guide has been published."  

The Sunday Times says “The Warwick bubble looks certain not to burst – the university continues to float high in The Sunday Times league table. It has never finished outside our elite top 10 since the guide was first published in 1998 and has led the Midlands league table for each of every 12 years that the guide has been published. Ever ambitious, Warwick is working towards its Vision 2015 target of being among the top 50 in the world and with six years to go is already ranking  69^th in the latest Times Higher Education world university rankings. Its performance in last year’s research assessment exercise confirmed its position as one of Britain’s leading research-led universities, despite having barely 40 years on the academic clock. Almost two-thirds of the research entered was judged world-leading or internationally excellent.

Warwick’s graduates are in demand, commanding high salaries (£23,238, more than £3,500 above the UK average) with 82% of them getting graduate-level jobs, a proportion bettered by just 11 universities. It comes as no surprise that competition for undergraduate places is stiff.

There’s accommodation on-site for just under 5,800, which means the campus is the social and academic hub for more than half the students – hence its ‘bubble’ nickname. With seven bars, three nightclubs and an arts centre — containing theatre, cinema, 1,500-seat concert hall and gallery spaces — there is plenty to keep even those who live off-campus coming back again and again for more than just their lectures.”
