The University of Warwick Wins University Challenge
The University of Warwick has won University Challenge.
Team captain Daisy Christodoulou led her team-mates Harold Wyber, Rory Gill and Prakash Patel to a closely fought victory over opponents Manchester University.
The final score was an impressive 170 to 140.
The final was aired on BBC 2 on Monday (16 April 2007) and watched by more than 200 fellow students in Warwick University Students’ Union. The crowd cheered their fellow students on as the title hung in the balance.
Toasting their victory in Champange Daisy said: “It feels great to be the champions, and we were all really grateful for the support we received on the night. There was a fantastic atmosphere in the Students’ Union.”
This the first year the University of Warwick has won the title.
