The University of Warwick’s Centre for Student Careers and Skills and Unitemps team up to launch new internship programme

A new programme designed to encourage local business to take advantage of the graduate market has been launched by the University of Warwick and its recruitment agency firm Unitemps.

The Warwick Graduate Internship Programme seeks to assist employers in their engagement with the rich graduate market and help demonstrate the benefits of graduate level resources in a cost effective way.

Companies who sign up to the scheme will be able to give graduates some vital work experience for up to four weeks with no cost incurred.

The programme will ask employers to register details of potential internships which Unitemps will match up with suitable graduates and create a shortlist of candidates.

Leon Hidderley, recruitment consultant at Unitemps, said: “This new scheme is a great way for local businesses to take advantage of the huge graduate talent pool available on their own doorstep here in Coventry.

“It is unusual that we are able to offer this scheme at no cost to the employer but a positive step forwards which will help our graduates gain vital skills that they need in order to succeed in such a competitive job market.”

Any companies interested in registering an internship should contact the Employer Connect team at the University on employerconnect@warwick.ac.uk.
