University of Warwick Celebrates International League Table Success

The University of Warwick is celebrating further league table success – this time in world-wide rankings.

Warwick, which recently announced its strategy to be ranked amongst the World’s top 50 universities by 2015, is now placed 57th by the national newspaper the Times Higher Education Supplement.

In 2006 the THES placed Warwick 73rd.

A spokesperson said: “Obviously this is good news for the university.  However, such tables can be deceptive, and we know there is a tremendous amount of work to still be done so we can secure top placings in all of the World’s university league tables.”

The Sunday Times recently placed Warwick 7th across the UK, and first in the Midlands.  The University is consistently placed within the UK top ten, with a much-admired reputation for its research and rising global stature.

The University of Warwick revealed its strategy for 2015 in September 2007, announcing its intention to be in the top 50 universities world-wide as measured by the quality of its research output and the strength of student demand.
