Studying aboard has many benefits, each of which I wanted to take part in. Namely, I love meeting and interacting with people and wanted the opportunity to do so, while also learning about the similarities and differences between us. On the academic level, as a student pursuing international business, the opportunity to study abroad offered me the chance to gain a more thorough understanding of the concepts of business and how they correlate together from an international perspective.
My outlook on the world was definitely expanded. The opportunity to make new friends – from a variety of cultures including not only Britain, but the Caribbean and Nigeria to name a few- allowed my “international” experience to be even more than I hoped for. I learned a great deal about their cultures and their individual approaches to business. My experience also taught me that communication is essential to developing relationships and how to be a more effective leader by learning new perspectives about people.
