What academic qualifications does the University of Warwick look for?  

 The course selectors at The University of Warwick typically look for a balanced score of 1875 or higher on the SAT R, completion of the High School Diploma with a strong overall GPA maintained until graduation and over evidence of a high level of academic achievement, including Academic awards or a high class rank, membership in academic honor societies, SAT S examinations and AP classes and/or examinations.

We strongly encourage candidates to take AP courses and tests wherever possible, particularly where there is a specific subject required for the chosen course as set out in our Undergraduate Prospectus. In general we look for a minimum score of 4 in at least 3 AP courses.



What degrees are available at the University of Warwick?  

Undergraduate degrees are available in four faculties, Arts, Medicine, Science, and Social Studies. For further information, please see the Academic Programmes section.



What degrees are available at the University of Warwick?  

All applicants must apply via the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service via their website www.ucas.com .



What is the University Centralised Admissions Service (UCAS)?  

The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service is the UK equivalent of the 'Common Application Form'. UCAS provides a centralised admissions system that allows the student to complete only one application form for up to five institutions or five courses/programmes in the UK. Please note that from September 2007, students will only be able to select a maximum of five institutions or five courses.


Do I need to send supporting documents? 

Yes. The University of Warwick typically asks applicants to send in the following information

  • Original or certified copies of High School Transcripts
  • Original or certified copy of your SAT, ACT and/or AP results certificate
  • An original copy of the reference, on headed paper and signed by the referee
  • A copy of the school profile

Can I keep track of my application? 

Yes, you will be able to keep track on all of your applications made through UCAS via their website.


Does Warwick offer a Foundation programme?

The University of Warwick runs its own Higher Education Foundation Programme, for International Students whose current qualifications do not equip them for direct entry to UK universities. This is a one-year intensive access course, taught in colleges near the University and students are offered accommodation nearby. HEFP students select one of the following five specialisms: Law, Business Studies, Social Science, Science & Engineering, and Chemistry/Biology. When should I apply for housing? 

You can apply for on-campus housing once you have received an offer to study at The University of Warwick. The application form will be available online, along with a description of the different housing options available on-campus. Please see www.warwick.ac.uk/accommodation .

What kind of visa will I require? 

As of November 13, 2003, citizens of the U.S. and of Canada wishing to enter the UK as students for longer than six months must apply for an Entry Clearance visa. Most Entry Clearance applications will be straightforward and dealt with quickly. You are able to apply and pay for the Entry Clearance on-line, and an interview with not normally be required.


Can I work during my degree?  

Yes, students who are on a full-time course of study in the UK are eligible to work 20 hours per week during academic sessions and 40 hours per week during holidays. Warwick runs its own student employment agency, "Unitemps", to assist students in finding work. furthermore, our Careers Service are always keen to match students with the best internship and summer employment opportunities.
