Speaker: Steven Rose, Head of Strategic Research of Birmingham City Council

In this talk, Steven will explore the social, physical and environmental challenges the City of Birmingham faces. He will illustrate inspirational examples of how to overcome these challenges from across the globe, weaving in opportunities for practical innovation, experimentation and collaboration as he proposed Birmingham as the field laboratory in setting out on a journey to become a leading Vital City.

Steve Rose is the Head of Insight at Birmingham City Council. He is a strategic thinker, social innovator and problem solver. A geography graduate from the University of Leeds, his early career was in the private sector and the last 14 years have been in public service working in the civil service, policing and local government. His career has always focused on analytics and building evidence using research techniques.
