Dr Cath Lambert

Biography

Dr Cath Lambert is Associate Professor in Sociology at the University of Warwick. She has a longstanding interest in the role of culture as a site for the re/producing and resistance of social values and norms, particularly in relation to education and gender/sexuality. In recent years her research has focused on the politics of aesthetics, and her on-going collaboration with Fierce Festival (www.wearefierce.org), a live art organisation based in Birmingham, provides the empirical focus for investigating the political, social, economic, educational and emotional value of art. Cath’s research also attends to the methodological challenges of researching experience and affect. Her current project The Value of Live Art: Experience, Politics and Affect is supported by AHRC Cultural Value funding (see www.livearthub.com).
