Graduation Eligibility Criteria

Receipt of the invitation to register and/or completion of the registration form does not constitute eligibility to graduate.

Eligibility criteria for students due to graduate in July 2024 can be found below.

To be eligible to graduate in July 2024, all of the following must be true:

Your name must have appeared on a Pass List/Decision Record Log approved by the Senate or the Steering Committee by no later than the dates stated below:

Undergraduate degrees
In order to meet the Senate Sub Group date on 3 July 2024, departments should submit decision record logs to the Student Records Team by Friday 28 June 2024.

Postgraduate taught degrees
In order to meet the Senate Sub Group date on 18 June 2024, departments should submit decision record logs to the Student Records Team by Wednesday 12 June 2024.

Postgraduate research degrees
You must have completed the examination process (including confirmation from examiners that corrections have been satisfactorily completed and submission of final thesis), and submitted all documentation as required by the Doctoral College by Friday 14 June 2024 to be included on the final pass list for inclusion in the July 2024 ceremonies which is due to be approved in late June 2024.

  • The award of a degree must have been conferred (e.g. Postgraduate Diploma and Certificate awards are not eligible);
  • You must not have an outstanding study related balance on your University account by 16:00 (GMT) on Thursday 27 June 2024. This includes having any library charges outstanding, and funds must be fully cleared by this time;
  • You must have completed the graduation registration process to register your intention with the Awards and Ceremonies Team by the date set out in your invitation email. Students who do not complete the registration process, where the other eligibility criteria are met, will graduate in absentia by default.
