Who do I make cheques payable to? Cheques should be made payable to ‘University of Warwick’ . Where do I make payments? Payments can be made at the reception on the ground floor in University House, in the Enrolment Hall during enrolment week or by one of the methods described in the How to Pay section of the website. Please note that the University does not accept cash. How can I find out what I owe? Students are encouraged to manage their finances on-line. You can gain access to your account with the University through the finance pages of my.warwick. This will show you exactly what is owed to the University, when the payment is due and whether or not the payment is covered by a direct debit mandate. Has the University received my bank transfer? Bank transfers can take up to 10 days to clear. If it has been more than 10 days, check online, if it is not showing then please e-mail Student Finance at studentfinance@warwick.ac.uk. Why haven’t I received a receipt for my payment? The University only produces receipts on request. Can you send me a receipt by e-mail? No. This facility is not currently available. Receipts can be posted to students on request. Can I have an extension on the payment deadline? No. If you do not make your payment by the specified deadline, you will be charged a 3% penalty. Why have I been charged a penalty? You have been charged a penalty because you failed to pay the amount due on the date specified. Can I have a discount for paying my fees in full? No. The University does not offer discounts. When is the next payment date? Payment deadlines for 2011/12 are 27 October 2011, 19 January 2012, 26 April 2012 and 19 July 2012. Please refer to the Paying By Direct Debit page for full details of instalment dates. Can I pay instalments by credit/debit card or cheque? No. Instalments must be made by direct debit. Can I pay by more instalments than specified in this guide? If you are experiencing financial difficulties and wish to explore the possibility of paying by more than the specified number of instalments, please contact the Credit Control Team within Student Finance. I have a tuition fee loan from the SLC. Do I have to pay the 25% deposit? No, the SLC will pay the University on your behalf for your fees. Why haven’t I received my tuition fee loan? If you are receiving a fee loan from the SLC, the money for your tuition fees will be paid direct to the University. Why haven’t I received my maintenance loan? Possible reasons are that you haven’t sent your Financial Notification to the Student Finance Office, you haven’t enrolled with the University, supplied the correct bank details on your SLC form (PN1 or PR1) or supplied your NI number to the SLC. What are my tuition/accommodation fees for 2011/12? Accommodation fees can be found at http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/services/accommodation/studentaccommodation/all/campus/rent Tuition fees for 2011/12can be found at http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/services/academicoffice/finance/tuitionfees. I have overpaid, how do I get a refund? In the first instance you should send an email to studentfinance@warwick.ac.uk, stating ‘Refund’ and your student number in the subject of the email. Can I have a refund if the overpayment was made by a third party? No, the refund will be made to the third party. Am I eligible for home status for my tuition fees? You should have been notified of your fees status by on your offer letter. If you would like to query your fee status, please read the requirements listed at Fees and Charges. Having read this and you feel you have incorrectly classified as an overseas student, please contact Student Finance at studentfinance@warwick.ac.uk (putting Fee Status in the header). Can I deduct my reservation deposit from my first terms rent? Any course deposits or accommodation deposits you have paid will be automatically deducted from the amount you pay for the first instalment of your fees and accommodation as appropriate. Why haven’t I had an invoice for terms 2 and 3 accommodation? The University does not produce invoices for accommodation. Termly rents for campus accommodation are given in this guide. For off campus accommodation, you will be given a sheet detailing your termly rent when you collect your keys. Who do I contact if I have financial difficulties? In the first instance, you should contact the Credit Control Team within Student Finance. Where can I check if you have received my cheques/payments/support notification? You should be able to access this information by logging into my.warwick and accessing the finance area within student records. I haven’t applied for the full undergraduate tuition fee loan (£3,375). What should I do? If you made an error on your application e.g. you applied for a fee loan at the 2010/11 rate (£3,290), you will need to reapply to your LA or Student Finance Direct for the full amount. If you intentionally applied for a lower amount you are liable for the balance.
