    Arriving at Warwick

Arrivals weekend will take place on 1 and 2 October 2011. This is one of the busiest weekends on campus, with more than 6, 200 campus rooms receiving their new occupants.

To ease congestion, the University asks that students with surnames beginning A-L aim to arrive on campus on Saturday 1 October and that those with surnames M-Z aim to arrive on Sunday 2 October. Where possible, please try to adhere to this request. Rooms will be available from 09.30 on each of those days.

Postgraduate students allocated to campus may move into accommodation from 24 September for an additional cost before their official contract starts on 1 October. Any postgraduate student wishing to do this should contact accommodation@warwick.ac.uk

    Car Parking and Transport

Parking facilities close to each hall of residence are limited and you will be advised of a short-term parking zone in which you can unload your belongings into your accommodation. We ask that you try to unload your belongings as promptly as possible.

As soon as you have completed unloading your vehicle, you will be asked to move your car to another car park. Please make sure that you only park in the areas designated for you and that you do not block access routes with your vehicle.

You should check the Traffic and Travel webpages before your journey to ensure that there are no major disruptions on campus or the surrounding roads.

Vice-Chancellor's welcome address for parents and supporters

Bringing a son or daughter to University can be an exciting and even emotional time for a parent or guardian. At Warwick we want parents to feel that they are part of our community. During Arrivals Weekend the Vice-Chancellor will be formally welcoming parents to the University and telling them a little more about what they and their son or daughter can come to expect over the coming months and years at the University. The Vice-Chancellor’s welcome address for parents will take place at the following times:

    • Saturday 1 October – 14:00 – Butterworth Hall, Warwick Arts Centre
    • Sunday 2 October – 14:00 – Butterworth Hall, Warwick Arts Centre

Your parents (or you) will need to RSVP online to let us know if they are coming.
