Pay and Display / Pay on foot Parking

Pay and Display and Pay on Foot parking facilities are available to all staff, students and visitors to campus.

Pay and Display - Entry to these car parks is unrestricted, simply find a space and park. A ticket must then be purchased for the necessary length of time from the pay station and displayed in your vehicle as long as the vehicle is in the car park. Overstay results in a Civil Parking Notice being issued for the vehicle (see enforcement pages). Permits can be displayed instead of pay and display tickets in these car parks.

Pay on Foot - A barrier restricts access to these car parks. A permit holder is able to use their University card to enter the car park, all other users must take either a ticket or a blue chip coin on entry, which will cause the barrier to raise. The vehicle can then be parked without the need to display a ticket. To exit the car park payment must be made at the pay station located close to the exit of the car park. Once the payment has been made the ticket or blue chip coin will then grant egress from the car park when inserted into the slot at the exit barrier.

The following charges are applicable;

  • Up-to 4 hours - £1.50
  • Full Day - £3.00
  • Short-Stay Car Park 5 - £0.50 for 30 minutes, maximum stay of 1 hour, with an overstay charge of £20
  • Car Park 8a - £0.80 for two hours, £1.50 for 2- 4 hours, Full Day £3.

Please note some pay stations only accept the correct change.
