Options for economics students
In 2014/15. 94.2% of survey respondents had gained employment or further study within six months of graduation.
Although economists do succeed in getting into the competitive world of investment banking, this is by no means the only option and graduates have secured challenging and interesting roles in management consultancy, audit, accountancy, actuarial work, as economists, in high-level administrative roles within the university and elsewhere, and in education, sales and the public sector.
A little over 12% of respondents had gone on to further study, with international development, politics, finance, management and further pure economics being amongst the popular further study choices.
