Options for Film & TV students
Undergraduates from Film and Television typically go on to work in different spheres of film and television production, journalism, advertising, PR, arts administration and also to careers in teaching and research.
The most recent information available from the Destinations of Leavers of Higher Education (DLHE) Survey tells us that of those who graduated in 2011:
- 19.4% went on to further study
- the average salary was £19,400.
Several students are working in motion picture, video and television programme production, and programming and broadcasting activities. Job titles include TV Researcher, Production Assistant, Researcher and Edit Assistant. It is usual for graduates entering the film and television industry to undertake such roles before moving into graduate level roles as they develop their careers. Other popular sectors entered include education and social work activities. Graduate levels jobs entered include: Marketing Director and Management Associate/Curriculum Developer.
Of the students embarking on higher degrees, more than 50% remained at Warwick to pursue MA studies within the Film and Television Studies department.
