Get work experience

Find experience that will help you define your personal career path

Having some experience of work before you leave university has many benefits. Not only can it help you gain genuine examples and evidence to support future applications and interviews, it can also help you make important decisions about what career you want to pursue. Getting experience helps you hone in on exactly what it is you want from your career, and gives you skills and evidence to help you get there.

Anything that allows you to develop professional skills can be a form of work experience, so there are many different possibilities to suit different needs. Whatever your career goals, there are some key ways to ensure you make the most of your experience and get as much out of it as you can.
