Mark has been Anglican and Senior Chaplain at the University for the last ten years. He is also currently Area Dean of Coventry (South), which means that he has pastoral responsibility for the Anglican clergy in his immediate locality. He also represents the Diocese of Coventry as a member of the General Synod of the Church of England (the C of E's parliament) and its Mission and Public Affairs Council. Before ordination, he was a practising barrister, specialising in medical law and maintains his interest in medical ethics and law as an Honarary Lecturer in Values-in-Medicine at the University's Medical School. He is a keen runner and recently completed his first marathon (London) for charity.  Mark is married to Emma and has two fast-growing children, Katy (8) and Theo (6).
